Birdsall House offers a range of choices for your wedding celebrations. Whether you are looking for a small, intimate wedding in the Little Temple or an extravagant banquet in the Ballroom we go the extra mile to create the perfect day for you as a couple.

With exclusive use of the house and gardens you can ensure you will have total privacy surrounded by stunning interiors and scenery.

Our events team work closely with you to achieve a day you will remember for the rest of your lives.

Within the house, our beautifully decorated reception and function rooms are available for civil ceremonies, receptions and dining and there are also several gorgeous spots for marquees in the gardens.

Whatever the scale of the wedding or event you are planning, whether it is sit down dinner for 250 people or a more intimate al fresco lunch for 20 of your closest friends we will be very happy to talk through the options and create a stunning bespoke event for you.

Freedom, Flexibility and Utterly Unique!

Having the freedom and flexibility to plan the wedding we wanted, rather than being restricted by a set package, was most appealing to my husband and I. We wanted a day that was utterly unique and Birdsall House gave us that and so much more. Indeed, we are sure that Lady Cara and her team will make certain that no two weddings are ever the same.

Can I provisionally book a date?

We can hold a date for you for two weeks after your viewing. If we have not heard from you after two weeks we will release the date.

How do I confirm a booking?

We require a non-refundable deposit of 50% along with a signed booking form agreeing to our Terms and Conditions.

How does our planning service work?

We are here to help you achieve your perfect day and can help with sourcing new suppliers, gaining quotes or working logistics out for you. We will be there on the day to ensure everything runs to plan.

When can we & our suppliers have access to the venue?

Access for suppliers starts from 10 am the day before the wedding and they must clear by 12 noon on the day after the final wedding event. For the bridal party access is very flexible and arranged with us. All preparations and deliveries are to be arranged with our wedding coordinator.

Can we provide our own catering?

All food, with the exception of the wedding cake and evening food, is to be provided by one of our preferred caterers. If alternative caterers are required for ethnic or religious reasons this can be arranged.

Can we supply our own alcohol?

We run the supply of all alcohol for weddings in house. We offer four drinks packages which couples can decide to have or for a corkage fee you can bring your own wine and champagne. We do not allow caterers to run wedding bars.

Can we choose our own suppliers?

With the exception of food and alcohol, you are free to choose your other suppliers, such as photographers or florists. Our team is here to help you find the right one for you.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

We have a ramp (if required) for guests with walking difficulties to get up the front steps and access is possible to all the downstairs rooms. Whilst we do not have any bedrooms that can be accessed by wheelchairs we can advise on local accommodation that is accessible.

What are the bar and music finish times?

The bar and music must stop by midnight and guests must leave the property immediately, apart from those staying in the house

Do you supply a PA System?

Yes, we have a portable PA system for you to use during the day.

Where can we dance?

Parties of up to 50 can dance in the house. For larger parties, we require a marquee to be in the garden for dancing. This allows you to include any additional evening guests to increase the size of your party.

Are candles and tea lights allowed at the venue?

Naked flames are not to be used inside the house except on dining tables. Outside the house candles and tea lights can be used provided they are in fireproof containers. The positioning of these must be agreed upon with the venue.

Can we have fireworks & lanterns?

Low noise fireworks and sparklers are permitted, although we do not allow Chinese lanterns.

Can guests park overnight and what about taxis?

Yes, guests can park in the guest car park overnight. However, all cars must be removed by noon the following morning. Taxis MUST be ordered in advance of the wedding as the local firms get booked up very quickly. We can give you the taxi firm numbers to pass on to your guests.

Can the girls wear Stilettos in the house?

We do not allow stilettos in the house and advise that couples warn their guests prior to the wedding.

Can we land a helicopter at Birdsall?

Absolutely, we have an area for landing and can liaise with pilots to make the necessary arrangements.
